Greetings Douglas Daly Families
WOW! We have come to the end of an amazing school year. Last week’s end of the year celebration was a special day for me. I have students grow up before my eyes. Some of these students, I met for the first time at Douglas Daly when they were in Preschool. I am reminded, once again, about how quickly time passes. It is such a privilege to work with all of your children and watch them grow. Thank you for sharing your children with us each day.
The end-of-year activities have brought closure to another wonderful school year. It was great to have so many families and friends attend the end of the year function last Wednesday. We could not do what we do without our dedicated volunteers – Parent Association, who selflessly gave of their time and energy throughout the year. Many of you were able to attend and help out with Adelaide Festival, Canberra Trip, local excursions, special school activities and the end of the year celebration. Douglas Daly School is privileged to have an active School Council and the Parent Association who help plan, organize, and support the many activities that take place throughout the year. I speak for the whole Douglas Daly staff when I say ‘thank you’ for being partners with us in your child’s education. I have the opportunity to work with a dedicated staff that support and scaffold students learning. I can’t say enough about the professionalism, commitment, and dedication of the Douglas Daly staff. I am grateful to lead a school with so much community spirit focused on student learning and growth.
I wish the best to Marriott Family who is leaving Douglas Daly to start a new adventure. Zachary, enjoy your new school and look after your brother Ryder as he starts Preschool.
I had the most wonderful year and now I am returning back to Darwin. Territory is a small place and I am sure our paths will cross. A new Teaching Principal will welcome back our returning families at the end of the summer holidays. Maddie and Lulu will continue to be the part of the teaching team at Douglas Daly. The staff will start the School on 30th January, Monday. Please feel free to call in to meet and greet the new Teaching Principal and the support staff before school starts on TUESDAY. The first day of school for students is TUESDAY, 31st January 2017.
Have a wonderful and safe summer holidays.
